Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • Do you offer in-person sessions?

Most of my sessions are conducted virtually on a secure platform, however depending on your needs and situation, I may suggest doing in-person sessions. In which case we can arrange for that.

  • How long are therapy sessions?

Each session, individual and couples counseling, will be 50 minutes long unless otherwise specified. Sometimes, I will suggest doing an extended session, which would be 80 minutes. This is more common for couples therapy.

  • What is your rate and do you offer a sliding scale?

Yes, I offer sliding scale rates for individual and couples sessions for those who struggle financially. Therapy can be a financial burden, however not to the point where the stress of paying for therapy outweighs the benefit.

My current rate for a 50-minute individual session ranges between $180-200 and $200-225 for 50-minute couples therapy session. We can further discuss an agreed upon rate during our 15 minute consultation call.

  • Do you take insurance?

I am out-of-network and do not accept insurance. However, I can provide you with a superbill if your insurance covers out-of-network costs. Superbills are itemized receipts of the services you pay for upfront. I provide these to my clients at the end of each month. Depending on your insurance benefits, you may get reimbursed for paying for out-of-network services. Please be sure to check your benefits prior to starting therapy to ensure you understand insurance benefits. Additionally, I offer a sliding scale, for those experiencing financial struggles. Sliding scales are used to determine a rate that will be suitable to the individual.

  • What if I don't know what to talk about in session?

Some sessions will be more difficult than others, whether that's because you don't know what you want to talk about or because the topic at hand is hard to discuss. Regardless of the reason, as long as you show up and are willing to work, my job as your therapist is to help guide you in the direction we feel is important. It's alright if you don't know what the session will be about.

  • How will I know if a therapist is a good fit for me?

One key indicator is how comfortable and safe you feel talking about personal things. Another way to search for a suitable fit is to look at the approaches the therapist uses in their practice. Be sure to understand the methods and interventions used.
